Giacomo Di Girolamo (1977) lives and works in Western Sicily. A journalist and writer, he mainly deals with the mafia, corruption, and environmental protection, working with various national and international publications. A broadcaster for the Rmc 101 radio station, the most widely followed in the province of Trapani, he hosts various programmes. In 2010 he published “Matteo Messina Denaro – The Invisible Man”, the first and most comprehensive biography of the head of Cosa Nostra, Matteo Messina Denaro: a fugitive since 1993. In 2012, “Cosa Grigia”, a report searching for the faces of the new mafia. In 2014, “They sleep on the hill”, an original reinterpretation of the history of Italy, and a book presented in the main Italian festivals. Finally, in 2016, “Against the Antimafia”, a painful and personal indictment. He has won numerous awards including, in 2014, the most important Italian journalism prize, the Premiolino.
